Review: This 2025 Amazon Prime film stars Will Ferrell & Reese Witherspoon as a father of the bride & sister of another bride who get double booked at their wedding venue. Comedy ensues as the two try to sabotage the other wedding while also looking for a compromise. Ferell & Witherspoon have great back & forth quips and the rest of the cast fills out a decently funny ensemble including Jack McBrayer, Geraldine Viswanathan, Meredith Hagner, & Jimmy Tatro. The film also features brief cameos from Wyatt Russell, Bobby Moynihan, Nick Jonas, & Peyton Manning. I don’t think it’ll be one that is revisited, but it’s a decent low effort watch. Also this is a random plus, but I think that the title is really good & the opening credits were very well done with the wedding invitation style.
High: It was very funny, with great visual & physical gags. Most of the jokes hit. Will Ferrell is very funny cause like of course. That really was the high. I cracked up a good few times. My wife cracked up a good few times. Good for some laughs.
Low: SLIGHT SPOILERS So I realized about halfway in that this was going to be a romance between the two leads, but that aspect of the film felt a little forced. And though there was some slight setup, it felt very forced. I think the film would’ve been just as good, if not better if it didn’t have that romantic aspect.
