Last Breath

Review: This late February 2025 release follows a true story of a group of deep sea divers who put themselves to the test when one of their own gets stranded at the bottom of the ocean. Described as a survival thriller, this film definitely leans into both of those genres & will get you sweating a little bit (though I am naturally clammy so maybe that’s just me). Starring Woody Harrelson as the veteran of the group, Simu Liu as the stoic but confident member, & Finn Cole as a young, newly engaged man with less experience than the other two and looking to prove himself. I’ll keep my review spoiler free, but this film does a good job hitting the right emotional keys at the right times. It is based on a true story so I’m sure you can guess how it plays out in the end. Really just kind of a random movie I saw in the spur of the moment, it wasn’t a great film, but I left feeling satisfied.

High: This movie definitely got my heart pumping. I would say if you’re already a pretty anxious person, maybe avoid this one because you know it is about a dude trapped at the bottom of the ocean running out of Oxygen. Luckily I’m a really chill, stress-free guy & I can say that because my wife won’t be reading this to debate it.

Low: I mean this was a decent watch, looked good on the big screen, but is really pretty forgettable. I’m not sure what, if anything, would make it stand out.
