Mt. Rushmore-Adam Sandler

Now we’re going to look at the person my brother says is the greatest actor ever. Yep. I would be happy to say he’s one of the best comedic actors. I know most of his films aren’t very well critically received, but I personally enjoy a majority of them. This list is not what I consider his top 4 favorite films, but instead his top roles based on iconicity to his career. Some honorable mentions I want to honorably mention include Lenny Feder (Grown Ups) & Dracula (Hotel Transylvania).

Happy Gilmore in 'Happy Gilmore'- The first spot has got to go to one of Sandler's first two big roles. The failed hockey player turned golf pro is known for his iconic slapshot drive, one liners, & quick temper. While I'm sure real golfers probably aren't a fan, I really do think the film helped a fair few people care about golf for the first time and I hope the upcoming sequel can recapture the humor of the first.

Billy Madison in 'Billy Madison'- Sandler's production company isn't called Happy Madison Productions for nothing. The Sandman's first starring role came in 1995 as this man child who must quickly repeat school to inherit his father's Fortune 500 company. Fresh off SNL, Sandler quickly made a name for himself in the film world with this one.

Bobby Boucher in 'The Waterboy'- To complete the 90s trifecta of Adam Sandler characters, we have the greatest foosball player to ever grace South Central Louisiana State University. I personally would say Boucher is the greatest fictional football player due to his sheer dominance on the field. Side note, Sandler is so relatable always making his characters cool, or tremendous athletes, like I'd do the same thing.

Howard Ratner in 'Uncut Gems'- While Sandler's career was consistently financially successful for him, he went a long while without receiving praise for his acting. Although he had done more dramatic roles before that did get him some credit (e.g. 'Punch-Drunk Love') many people learned that if he wanted to he really could deliver a good dramatic performance from this film from the Safdie brothers.
