Mt. Rushmore- Brad Pitt

This week’s Mt. Rushmore goes to one of the biggest movie stars of the 21st century, Brad Pitt. Pitt has been one of Hollywood’s most prevalent actors since the early 90s & with that has come a slew of iconic roles. Before I put his top 4 up, I want to honorably mention some honorable mentions. Billy Beane (Moneyball), Rusty Ryan (Ocean’s Eleven), Louis de Pointe du Lac (Interview with the Vampire), Aldo Raine (Inglorious Basterds), & David Mills (Seven) are a few.

Tyler Durden in 'Fight Club'- 1999's 'Fight Club' originally failed at the box office & received mixed reviews, but very quickly became a cult classic and one of the most talked about films of the 90s. A large element in that comes from Pitt's performance as the psychotic Tyler Durden. I want to say more about 'Fight Club,' but I'm already breaking a couple rules with how much I've said so far.

Jeffrey Goines in '12 Monkeys'- Pitt's first Oscar nomination came from his role as mental patient & leader of the Army of the 12 Monkeys. In this role Pitt's character is deranged & silly, yet intimidating. While Goines isn't the villain we assume he is, he is a great character and the most memorable from the 1995 film.

Benjamin Button from 'The Curious Case of Benjamin Button'- Playing the titular character in the 2008 romantic fantasy drama, the character of Benjamin Button is definitely one of Pitt's more well known characters by name. In the film, Button is born as an old man and ages backwards. This causes him to only get to spend a short time with the woman he loves (Daisy played by Cate Blanchett) while they are biologically the same age. An incredibly sad film, Pitt plays the character so well in every stage of his life and garnered himself another Oscar nomination.

Cliff Booth in 'Once Upon a Time in Hollywood'- My personal favorite of Pitt's roles, this role finally got Pitt his Oscar. In the 2019 Quentin Tarantino film Pitt plays the stuntman, chauffeur, and assistant to Leonardo DiCaprio's Rick Dalton. Cliff is an incredibly cool guy and we see him taken on Bruce Lee, the Manson family, & does a bunch of other cool stuff.
