The Best Christmas Pageant Ever

Review: I was honestly stunned by this film. I had pretty nonexistent expectations going into it, & it was quite good. It was well executed, funny, & highly emotional. Listen, I’m a big Jesus guy. I like him very much. That being said, I’m aware enough to know that Christian films are usually not any good. But this one was good! And it wasn’t too in your face so I think people who aren’t Christians could still enjoy it. There were some solid performances from recognizable actors like Judy Greer, Lauren Graham, & Pete Holmes, with no big A-list star. It can be a dangerous game for a movie to feature so many child actors in such significant roles, because some of the performances can be rocky, but this movie didn’t have that problem. But every child actor brought it in this film, namely, Beth (Molly Belle Wright), Charlie (Sebastian Billingsley-Rodriguez), & The Herdmans: Claude, Ollie, Leroy, Ralph, & Gladys(Matthew Lamb, Essek Moore, Ewan Wood, Mason D. Nelligan, & Kynlee Heiman), but the actress who played Imogene (Beatrice Schneider) was the most notable for me.

High: Gosh it really did a great job in conveying the emotions & getting the audience to feel them. I watched this with some of my family & we were all emotional after, with most of us crying during our watch (myself included).

Low: I honestly don’t have any complaints about this movie & I think it will be one that enters the annual Christmas rotation, because of the feelings, family orientation, & even touching on the true meaning of Christmas.
