X2
Review: A great follow-up to ‘X-Men,’ this movie effectively builds the characters that were previously introduced and introduce a handful of new characters, both beloved and despised. The team up of the X-Men & Brotherhood is executed really well and to see them fight their common enemy, Waystar RoyCo CEO Logan Roy, I mean, Colonel William Stryker, and subsequently defeat him was quite satisfying. I think this is no doubt better than the third film, but to me, this is the forgettable middle child of the X-Men trilogy. I should also say that after it’s use in ‘Deadpool & Wolverine,’ ‘Bye Bye Bye’ playing on the radio made me chuckle.
High: The opening scene of this movie is one of the greatest of all-time. Not just a comic book movie, any movie. Nightcrawler is such a sick character that I’m sure would be hard to bring to live-action, but it is done eXcellently. (I had to get one in here)
Low: Professor X was so incredibly useless in this movie and that really pissed me off. Like why would you just have him be a prisoner trapped in his own mind for the whole runtime. Have him do something or be able to fight back somehow please!
