Our Little Secret
Review: This new 2024 film from Netflix stars Lindsay Lohan as a woman who meets her boyfriend’s family for Christmas & learns his sister is dating her hometown sweetheart. The two agree to keep their past a secret and help one another out over the holiday. This film was exactly what you’d expect. It was silly with over the top characters and a predictable outcome. There were a couple of unexpected twists (like the unexpected affair), but overall this film is one that is better as background noise than the forefront of your attention. The film features an opening title sequence meant to display a 10-year time jump and I’ll just say that the historical events it chose are probably not the ones I would personally choose.
High: Kristin Chenoweth was great in her role. I would say she is kind of the queen of playing a supporting role in a Christmas movie. She does a great job playing a scary mother-in-law character, but doing it with a certain hilarity she always brings. I also really enjoyed Tim Meadows in this film & wish he would’ve been featured a little more.
Low: Something that really bothered me & my wife was the dishes they were using for pouring drinks. They were using a teapot to pour coffee and then Lindsay Lohan poured milk out of a kettle towards the end of the film. That really rubbed me the wrong way.
