Damsel

Review: Netflix’s newest addition was a take at changing the pace of the typical fairy tale format. I can respect it for that, but I personally think it fell short. The story and dialogue was not super polished and the lore felt under-built. I also feel like it wasted the talent of many seasoned actors, especially Angela Bassett. I don’t have much else to say other than if you choose not to watch this one, you’re not really missing out.

High: The star, Millie Bobby Brown, did give a strong performance, and added to her ever growing catalog hitting a new genre. She was easily the best part of a not great movie.

Low: The effects, specifically with the dragon, etc. interacting with real people were pretty rough around the edges.

Rating: 3/10
