Kung Fu Panda 4
Review: I really think this is the second best installment in the franchise behind the original. So many good things to love about it. Of course hilarity is present. The very sweet dynamic between Po’s dads is so enjoyable to watch. I will say one bad part, though not my low is that the lack of the Furious Five and the very minor role of Master Shifu both kinda sucked.
High: Jack Black & Awkwafina played off each other very well and the dynamic resulted in a lot of funny moments.
Low: It brought back all of the great villains from previous movies (Ian McShane’s Tai Lung, Gary Oldman’s Shen, & J.K. Simmons’s General Kai) to be like silly little cameos that just get beat up on by the Chameleon. I think it’s okay to do something like this to set up a new villain, but I think having them take down smaller heroes is better than knocking off old villains.
