Unfrosted

Review: If you want a good, silly, goofy movie to watch: this is for you. I personally have never watched ‘Seinfeld’ but since this was written by, directed by, & starring Jerry himself, if you enjoy that I’m sure you’d love this. It felt like a long sketch from a sketch comedy show and I mean that as a huge plus. There’s so, so many actors and characters and cameos in this but it doesn’t feel over-crowded. Heck even Jon Hamm & John Slattery return as their ‘Mad Men’ characters. Hugh Grant is my stand out as Tony the Tiger and the whole film is just so over the top it works. I also loved the brief appearances of James Marsden & Peter Dinklage.

High: It’s not afraid to be silly. It’s a movie about making the Pop-Tart. That shouldn’t be a self serious film, so it’s not. They were willing to take the stupid concept and dumb ideas and make them into hilarious jokes.

Low: IF I had to pick a low, while I think Hugh Grant was spectacular and Snap, Crackle, & Pop were also pretty funny (shoutout Is it cake host Mikey Day) the whole mascot strike storyline felt the most unnecessary BUT I wouldn’t take it out.
