Mt. Rushmore- Will Ferrell

One of the greatest comedic actors of all-time, Will Ferrell is one of those actors that makes a role iconic just by stepping into it. He had an absolutely legendary run in the 2000s and all four entries actually fall between 2003-2008. Some honorable mentions I’d like to honorably mention include; Jacobim Mugatu in ‘Zoolander,’ Frank ‘The Tank’ Ricard in ‘Old School,’ his uncredited cameo as Chazz Reinhold in ‘Wedding Crashers,’ Harold Crick in ‘Stranger than Fiction,’ Megamind in ‘Megamind,’ Jackie Moon in ‘Semi-Pro,’ Lord Business in ‘The Lego Movie,’ & the exclusion that was the most difficult for me, Allen ‘Gator’ Gamble in ‘The Other Guys.’ His role as the cowbell player on ‘SNL’ also deserves a mention.

Ron Burgundy in ‘Anchorman’- Ferrell has played the role in two feature films and a direct to DVD companion film. Ferrell embodies the conceited anchorman & his chemistry with every other character in the film works to a tee. Just about everyone line in ‘Anchorman’ has become quotable, as is the case with most of Ferrell’s roles. Stay classy San Diego.

Ricky Bobby in ‘Talladega Nights’- If you ain’t first your last. Except right here he’s second. Just like Ron Burgundy two years before, Ricky Bobby is classic one liner after classic one liner. I am personally a big fan of the Shake N Bake, and I love the dichotomy between Ron Burgundy’s mustache & Ricky Bobby’s love patch. It’s poetry in motion.

Brennan Huff in ‘Step Brothers’- Though not Ferrell’s first or last collaboration with John C. Reilly, this is easily the most popular. The two manage to play two men in their 40s who still love with their single parents, but they also manage to play very different characters. ‘Step Brothers’ is just one of those movies that is just so objectively dumb it’s funny, & Ferrell plays a big part in that. And just like the rest, it’s so absurdly quotable.

Buddy the Elf in ‘Elf’- Well duh. I would say this is probably the role that made Ferrell a household name. I’ve talked in every entry about how quotable these roles and films are, but they all pale in comparison to ‘Elf.’ I highly recommend you go read my article in which I conducted a survey about people’s favorite Christmas movies & let’s just say both Ferrell & ‘Elf’ received a ton of praise. Every line Ferrell says is iconic. Every movement he makes is hilarious. There is a reason ‘Elf’ is rewatched by so many people every year, and that reason is Will Ferrell.
