Mt. Rushmore- Robert Pattinson

I strongly believe Robert Pattinson will go down as one of the best actors of this generation. He’s transitioned himself from a heartthrob actor to a versatile actor who can lead big budget films or weird indie movies. People online refer to a lot of his roles as ‘freaky little weirdo’ roles, but they mean that with sincerity. Before we get into his Mt. Rushmore, which are the 4 roles of his I consider a combination of his best/most iconic, let’s honorably mention some honorable mentions. The Grey Heron in the English dub of ‘The Boy and the Heron,’ Jacob Jankowski in ‘Water for Elephants,’ Connie Nikas in ‘Good Time,’ & I think his upcoming role as Mickey Barnes in ‘Mickey 17’ could potentially earn a spot here.

Batman in ‘The Batman’- Spoiler, pretty much every actor who has played Batman will have Bruce Wayne on their Mt. Rushmore (there are a few exceptions cough cough Clooney). Batman is just one of those roles that is instantly iconic due to the history & notoriety of the character. And when you do it well, like Pattinson, its one of those roles that will always follow you. Director Matt Reeves & Pattinson teamed up to take on a more grounded version of the character that earns the moniker of ‘World’s Greatest Detective.’ With a sequel on the way in 2026 (as well as several spinoffs) Pattinson is always a welcome bearer of the cowl.

Ephraim Winslow in ‘The Lighthouse’- AKA Thomas Wake, this is one of those freaky little weirdo roles I was referring to. With the entire film taking place at a lighthouse with Pattinson’s character and another lighthouse keeper (Willem Dafoe) slowly going insane in their four weeks of isolation. This movie is strange, peculiar, and artsy, but quite good. In part to the cinematography and filmmaking & in part due to the two performances.

Cedric Diggory in ‘Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire’- This one may be a hot take to some people, but it’s Harry Potter y’all. It doesn’t get much bigger than that. Cedric Diggory is a character whose SPOILERS death is more impactful than anything else, and his legacy is felt throughout the sequels. This was Pattinson’s debut film role & he brings an incredibly likable character from page to screen.

Edward Cullen in ‘The Twilight Saga’- Well. People that do like Pattinson’s more recent arc may be upset by this. The actor himself might be upset at this. But he will always be synonymous with his role as the sparkly vampire. And I think that’s okay. He doesn’t need to be defined or contained by the role, but it is really what made him the movie star he is today. He played Edward in 5 awfully cheesy films (I personally enjoy them), playing one part of film’s most infamous love triangle.
