Mt. Rushmore- Bruce Willis

Though he is now retired due to health reasons, Bruce Willis was a star that reach certified movie star status. He navigated many different roles & genres through his film and in this article we will highlight his top four most iconic roles. Some honorable mentions to honorably mention include: David Addison in ‘Moonlighting,’ Butch Coolidge in ‘Pulp Fiction,’ Korben Dallas in ‘The Fifth Element,’ Harry Stamper in ‘Armageddon,’ & John Hartigan in ‘Sin City.’

David Dunn in ‘Unbreakable’- Starring in M. Night Shyamalan’s 2000 superhero thriller, Willis plays David Dunn, a man who is discovered to have super strength & invulnerability, along with the ability to see other people’s crimes when he touches them. Willis is able to bring a tragedy to the character in a role that he reprised for a cameo in 2017’s ‘Split’ & in a lead role in 2019’s ‘Glass.’

Malcolm Crowe in ‘The Sixth Sense’- Now in M. Night Shyamalan’s 1999 non-superhero thriller with one of the all-time great movie twists, Willis plays a child psychologist whose new patient (Haley Joel Osment) claims to be able to communicate with the dead. While his two castmates (Osment & Toni Collette) were able to notch Oscar nominations, Willis was not, though this may be the best performance of his career.

James Cole in ‘12 Monkeys’- Our third thriller, though this one has nothing to do with Shyamalan. In this film in which Willis costars with Brad Pitt, Madeleine Stowe, & Christopher Plummer, Willis again had to watch a costar (Pitt) get an Oscar nom while he did not. But I digress as Willis stars as a man sent from a dystopian future to figure out what event ended the world, and to stop it. A very confusing film that doesn’t make sense until the end, but it’s clear that Willis is great throughout.

John McClane in ‘Die Hard’- GREATEST ACTION FILM EVER. GREATEST ACTION HERO EVER. ITS A CHRISTMAS MOVIE. YIPPIE KI YAY FIRETRUCKER.
